No JavaScript Pure CSS3 ContentEditable Alternative (Chrome-Based Browsers Only)

Posted at

You may include/inject the following rule: *{-webkit-user-modify:read-write !important;}, in any-way you'll like (preferably placing it at the very bottom of page's BODY to avoid overriding it..)

javascript:(function(document,style){
style = document.createElement("style");
style.setAttribute("media", "all");
style.setAttribute("type", "text/css");
style.appendChild(document.createTextNode("*{-webkit-user-modify:read-write !important;}"));
document.querySelector("body").appendChild(style);
}(top.document));

This is far more beneficial, end efficient (both on the RAM/DOM-load and rendering engine wise),
than simply making every container contentEditable="true" (using JavaScript..).
